Tung joins a group of only 20 professors from around the country, including University of Florida, UCLA, Wayne State University, and SUNY-Geneseo. During the one-week seminar in Los Angeles, Tung met with many television producers, writers, and directors, and toured the sets of the ABC hit show “Brothers and Sisters” at the Disney Studios in Burbank. He also had a chance to attend a live taping of the Tonight Show, and attended a Q & A session with network executives at the Fox Studios. “It was a very intense but productive week,” said Tung. “We covered so many topics about the television industry. They range from reality television, digital media, mini-series, programming to internship opportunities for our students. It was an incredible professional development opportunity for me. I am still using the information I got from the seminar in my classroom.” The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences hosts the annual Emmy Awards and bases its national office in North Hollywood, CA.
